General
The owner of this web site is Paperclix Limited whose address is Paperclix House, Sandybrook Lane, St Lawrence, Jersey, JE3 1LJ ('www.paperclix.je' / 'www.paperclix.co.uk' / 'Paperclix' / 'we' / 'us' / 'our'). Business Registration number 36207. Your contract for purchases made through the Site is with Paperclix, and you undertake that any and all goods ordered by you are for your own business, private and domestic use only. You must be eighteen years old to use this site. If you are under eighteen, you may only use the site in conjunction with, and under the supervision of, a parent or guardian. If you do not qualify, please do not use the site. You agree that e-mail can be used as a long-distance means of communication. No contract for the sale of any product will subsist between you and Paperclix unless and until Paperclix accepts your order by way of an e-mail confirming that it has received payment in full for all the goods you have ordered. That acceptance will be deemed complete and will be deemed for all purposes to have been effectively communicated to you at the time Paperclix sends the e-mail to you (whether or not you receive that e-mail). This order confirmation e-mail amounts to an acceptance by Paperclix of your offer to buy goods from Paperclix or a third-party supplier that is engaged on your behalf by Paperclix. This order confirmatory e-mail will contain all relevant information concerning your order. You must check that the details on this e-mail are correct as soon as possible and you should print out and keep a copy of it. Paperclix will not pass on your personal or credit or debit card details to any third party. We shall be entitled to process your data in accordance with the terms of our Privacy Notice. Please view the Privacy Notice contents displayed lower down on this page. You undertake that all details you provide to Paperclix for the purpose of ordering or purchasing goods or services are correct, that the credit or debit card you are using is your own and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the goods or services ordered. You must complete all required information marked with an asterisk including a valid email address. If you have a registered account with Paperclix, you will be required to login with your email address and password. You are responsible for all actions taken under your registered account with Paperclix and shall only use the Site under your own login details and password. You must make every effort to keep your password safe and should not disclose it to anyone. If it is compromised, you must change it by using the 'change password' link. You may not transfer or sell your username to anyone, nor permit, either directly or indirectly, anyone to use your username or password. If there are any changes to the details supplied by you it is your responsibility to inform Paperclix as soon as possible. You may cancel your order at any time prior to your order being processed by email to info@paperclix.co.uk or by telephoning 01534 866776 during normal office hours. You may also withdraw from the contract within seven working days after the order has been placed and you have received our email confirming your order. Please send a notice of cancellation by email to info@paperclix.co.uk ensuring that you quote your name, address and order reference number or where you have already collected the goods, returning the goods to Paperclix unopened together with the original invoice. Paperclix will refund you the purchase price of the goods. Once Paperclix receives notification from you that you wish to withdraw from the contract (in accordance with these terms), any sum debited to Paperclix from your credit or debit card in relation to your order will be re-credited to that credit or debit card account as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of your order provided that the goods you wish to return are received by Paperclix in the condition that they were in when you collected them. You will be liable for any charges incurred in returning the goods to Paperclix. Paperclix reserves the right to make a 15% restocking charge for any goods which are not returned in mint condition or to refuse to accept such goods, at its sole discretion. Paperclix also reserves the right to make a charge for collecting goods from your premises in circumstances where they are not defective but you have cancelled your order. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Liability
This section applies only to the extent permitted by law. For the avoidance of doubt, Paperclix do not exclude or limit any liability for (a) personal injury (including sickness and death) where such injury results from Paperclix negligence or wilful default, or that of Paperclix employees, agents or subcontractors or (b) fraudulent misrepresentation. Paperclix does not accept liability (except as set out below) for any errors and omissions and reserve the right to change information, prices, specifications and descriptions of listed goods, products and services. If an error is discovered in the price of the goods that you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible. In the event that you order an item and the price published on the Site is incorrect for any reason, we will contact you to let you know the correct price and ask you whether you still wish us to fulfil your order at this price. We shall be under no obligation to fulfil an order for a product, which was advertised at an incorrect price. We shall give you the option of confirming the order at the correct price or if you so choose, to cancel the order altogether. Please note it may be necessary in some circumstances, if the order is still required at the correct price, for Paperclix to refund the incorrect priced order and ask the customer to reorder the required items again. If you cancel and have already paid for the goods in the circumstances described in this clause, we shall refund the full amount in accordance with these Terms. Paperclix will do its best to correct errors and omissions as quickly as practicable after being notified of them. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAPERCLIX IS PROVIDING THIS SITE AND ITS CONTENTS ON AN 'AS IS' BASIS AND MAKES NO (AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL) REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO THIS SITE OR THE INFORMATION, CONTENT, MATERIALS OR PRODUCTS INCLUDED IN THIS SITE INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN ADDITION, PAPERCLIX DOES NOT REPRESENT OR WARRANT THAT THE INFORMATION ACCESSIBLE VIA THIS SITE IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT. In the unlikely event that you receive goods which were not what you ordered or which are damaged or defective, or are of a different quantity to that stated on your order form, Paperclix shall, at its own option, make good any shortage, replace or repair any damaged or defective goods, or refund to you the amount you paid for the goods in question PROVIDED THAT you notify Paperclix of the problem by email or in writing at the address stated in the confirmation e-mail within 10 working days of the collection of the goods. NOTHING IN THIS CLAUSE AFFECTS YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS. You and Paperclix will only be liable under these Terms for losses, which are a reasonably foreseeable consequence of the relevant breach of contract. The products sold on the Site are provided for business, private domestic and consumer use only. Accordingly, Paperclix do not accept liability for any indirect loss, consequential loss, and loss of data, loss of income or profit, loss of damage to property and/or loss from claims of third parties arising out of the use of the Site or for any products or services purchased from Paperclix. All electrical products are covered by a twelve-month manufacturer's warranty. If your product develops a fault while under warranty, please contact Paperclix and we will advise you where to send it for repair. If it is a "return to base" warranty there may be a delivery charge to return the product back to the relevant service centre.
Processing of orders
Credit and Debit cards are debited on the day you place the order with Paperclix. All prices include GST (Goods and Services Tax). We only accept Paypal for online orders, you will be directed to Paypal to complete your purchase. Every purchase you make shall be deemed performed in Jersey. Jersey law shall govern every aspect of contractual agreement concerning purchases made from the Site. If you wish to collect your order from our shop at Sandybrook, please tick the box in shopping cart "collect from store". Paperclix will contact you as soon as your order is ready for collection. Some items listed on the site may be temporarily unavailable and Paperclix is not always able to supply dates that our suppliers may get an item back into stock. Our standard Returns Policy applies to all purchases from Paperclix.
Collection/Title/Risk
All goods can only be collected from our shop at Paperclix House, Sandybrook Lane, St Lawrence, Jersey JE3 1LJ. Please note that your goods will not be ready for collection until you are contacted by Paperclix stating that your order is ready for collection. Title to any product ordered will pass to you once Paperclix has received payment in full for that product. Risk in any product ordered will pass upon collection by you. For Christmas Collections, we recommend that you order by the 15th December; however, we cannot guarantee any order to be ready for collection on or before the 24th December as goods do sometimes become delayed in transit to us.
Miscellaneous
We shall have no liability to you for any delay in the collection of products ordered or any other matters to the extent that the delay is due to any event outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, flood, fire, labour disputes, strikes, lock-outs, riots, civil commotion, malicious damage, explosion, governmental actions and any other similar events. We shall have no liability (including liability for negligence) for the acts or omissions of telecommunications service providers or for failures of, or faults in their networks and equipment. No waiver by us of any breach of these Terms shall be considered as a waiver of any subsequent breach of the same or any other provision. You may not permit; create unauthorised framing of, or deep linking to, the Site or the creation of derivative works thereof from any other website under your management or control. In these Terms, 'Intellectual Property Rights' means patents, database rights, copyright, design rights (whether registered or unregistered), trade marks (whether registered or unregistered) and other similar rights, together with the right to apply for the protection of any such rights. We shall own all Intellectual Property Rights in the Site absolutely. Subject to the licence granted to you to use the Site, Paperclix reserves all rights, title and interest in its Intellectual Property Rights in the Site. Any goodwill accruing from use of Paperclix and its affiliates' trademarks, trade and business names and service marks under this Agreement will vest in Paperclix and its affiliates, as appropriate. It is a crime to use a false name or a known invalid credit card or debit card to order. Anyone caught wilfully entering an erroneous or fictitious order will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Paperclix tracks the electronic 'fingerprints' of every order placed on Paperclix to enable us and all legitimate crime prevention and prosecution authorities to trace individual users engaging in criminal activities on our website. We reserve the right to terminate this Agreement and to suspend or terminate your access to the Site immediately and without notice to you if: you fail to make any payment to us when due; you breach the terms of this Agreement (repeatedly or otherwise); when requested by us to do so, you fail to provide us within a reasonable time with sufficient information to enable us to determine the accuracy and validity of any information supplied by you, or your identity; we suspect you have engaged, or about to engage, or have in any way been involved, in fraudulent or illegal activity on the Site. Paperclix may amend these Terms from time to time, and place the new version on the Site. Such changes will be effective against new and existing users with immediate effect following posting of the amended version on the Site. Your continued use of the Site following Paperclix posting of any changes will constitute your acceptance of such changes. If you do not agree to any changes to these Terms, then your only remedy is to cease using the Site. These Terms supersede any and all other conditions, understandings, commitments, agreements or representations (except fraudulent misrepresentations) relating to your purchase, whether oral or in writing, and contain the entire agreement between Paperclix and you relating to your purchase. Paperclix advises that you print off and keep safe a copy of these terms and conditions once your order has been accepted by Paperclix. We will store a copy of the contract entered into by you with Paperclix. You are advised to read (and are responsible for reading) fully all information on this website. If any competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part shall hold any provision of these Terms, the validity of the remaining parts of these Terms and the remainder of the affected provision shall be unaffected. These Terms are subject to the laws and exclusive jurisdiction of the Island of Jersey, Channel Islands.
Privacy Notice
Paperclix Limited referred to as ‘Paperclix’, ‘we’ or ‘our’ is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information.
This Privacy Notice describes how we collect and use personal information about you during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 (DPJL).
Paperclix is a "Data Controller". This means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information.
We are required under data protection legislation to notify you of the information contained in this Privacy Notice.
Paperclix is registered with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner – Registration No. 15993.
We will comply with data protection law. This says that the personal information we hold about you must be: -
- Used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way.
- Collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes.
- Relevant to the purposes we have told you about and limited only to those purposes.
- Accurate and kept up to date.
- Kept only as long as necessary for the purposes we have told you about.
- Kept securely.
We will also only transfer your information when it is safe to do so, when it is necessary to do so and your information is protected in the same way that we protect it.
Paperclix is accountable to you and the Authorities to not only show compliance with the data protection laws but also to demonstrate how we are compliant.

The Kind of Information We Hold About You
Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).
To explain this to you we will, when necessary, list our different services when we collect or use different information about you.
How Is Your Personal Information Collected?
We collect personal information about our you when you contact us, make a purchase in our store or on our website, or provide use with your information for another specific purpose.

What Special Category Data we collect about you?
On occasions when we collect what is called Special Category data, we will always have either a clear legal basis to process this or your explicit consent. If we rely on your explicit consent, you can withdraw this at any time by contacting our DPM at data@paperclix.co.uk.
Special Category data is any information relating to your health, gender, race, sexual orientation, sex life, genetic or biometric data etc.
How We Will Use Information About You?
We will only use your personal information when the law allows us to, this is called a legal basis (highlighted in bold) for processing your information (data).
Most commonly, we will use your personal information in the following circumstances:
- Where you have entered into a contract with us to provide you with a service. This would be when you have a customer account with us.
- Where we need to comply with a legal obligation. This would be when we have to comply with a lawful authority to disclose information to the Police.
- Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests. For example, this may be when we process your information to process your order, you have a reasonable expectation for us to use your data for this purpose.
We may also use your personal information in the following situations, which are likely to be rare:
- Where you have given your consent to contact you for a specific purpose.
- In an emergency and it is in your vital interest that we share your information, when we have it recorded.
Change of purpose
We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose.
If we need to use your personal information for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.
Data Sharing
We may on occasions pass your Personal Information to organisation outside of Paperclix exclusively to process on our behalf, these organisations are called Data Processors.
We require these parties to agree to process this information based on our instructions and requirements consistent with this Privacy Notice.
We do not pass on information gained from your engagement with us without a clear legal basis for doing so. However, we may disclose your Personal Information to meet legal obligations, regulations, or valid governmental request.
The personal data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA").
It may also be processed by companies operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our service providers.
If we do this, we ensure that your privacy rights are respected in line with this Policy and the same protection is given to your personal information as laid down by the DPJL.
Data Security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, altered or disclosed, or accessed in an unauthorised way, in addition, we limit access to your personal information to those Colleagues, Agents, Contractors and other third parties on a need-to-know basis.
They will only process your personal information on our strict instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
Details of these measures may be obtained from our Data Protection Manager (DPM).
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.
Data Retention
We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
You can request our Data Retention Schedule from our DPM if required.
In some circumstances we may anonymise your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you, in which case we may use such information without further notice to you.
Rights of Access, Correction, Erasure, and Restriction
It is important that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and current.
Please keep us informed if your personal information changes during your relationship with us.
Under certain circumstances, by law you have the right to:
- Request access to your personal information (commonly known as a "data subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.
- Request correction of the personal information that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected.
- Request erasure of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal information where you have exercised your right to object to processing (see below).
- Object to processing of your personal information where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground. You also have the right to object where we are processing your personal information for direct marketing purposes.
- Request the restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
- Request the transfer of your personal information to another party.
If you want to review, verify, correct or request erasure of your personal information, object to the processing or request that we transfer a copy of your personal information to another party, please contact our DPM at data@paperclix.co.uk.
You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal information (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request for access is clearly unfounded or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with the request in such circumstances.
How to request your information and what we may need from you
Please email data@paperclix.co.uk to request the Data Subject Access request form. If you have any questions about this process or any of your rights, please contact our DPM at data@paperclix.co.uk.
We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access the information (or to exercise any of your other rights).
This is another appropriate security measure to ensure that personal information is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it.
We will respond to your request within 4 weeks after and upon satisfactory verification of your identity.
Right to Withdraw Consent
In the limited circumstances where you may have provided your consent to the collection, processing and transfer of your personal information for a specific purpose, you have the right to withdraw your consent for that specific processing at any time.
To withdraw your consent, please contact our DPM at data@paperclix.co.uk.
Once we have received notification that you have withdrawn your consent, we will no longer process your information for the purpose or purposes you originally agreed to, unless we have another legitimate basis for doing so in law.
Changes to this Privacy Notice
We reserve the right to update this privacy notice at any time, and we will provide you with a new privacy notice when we make any substantial updates.
We may also notify you in other ways from time to time about the processing of your personal information or requesting you to confirm the accuracy of the information we hold on you.
Complaints
We would like the chance to resolve any complaints you have about the way we process your information; however, you do have the right to complain to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner about how we have used your personal data.
